Welcome the newest soccer team in Detroit - the first based in the city in the modern era of professional soccer: Detroit City FC. Detroit City FC will begin their inaugural season in 2012 in the National Premier Soccer League's Midwest Division and will play teams from Binghamton, Buffalo, Cleveland, and Erie. Le Rouge will play a 12-game season and hosts their games at Adams Field at Wayne State University in Midtown.

Season tickets have gone on sale on their website. $30 will get you a season ticket package and a scarf. $75 enters you into the Founders' Circle, which includes season tickets, a replica home jersey, exclusive club emails, and admission to special DCFC events.

The Motor City Supporters have entered a partnership with Detroit City FC and we will be throwing our FULL support behind this team. We hope you will join us in Midtown this May for the hottest soccer ticket in town!

Tailgate for Club Invitational

Plans for "NEW" Silverdome leaked

It has been some time since we had news to share like this and it was worth the wait. We have been leaked some of the renderings of the proposed stadium design for the Silverdome as a "Soccer Specific Stadium."

The drawings show an overhanging roof with with an opening for sunlight which will hopefully be for a grass pitch. There is also an interesting twist to the stadium design. There is no stage on the main level to be used for additional income or take up valuable end line seat space, ala Crew Stadium. What is seen here is a second level UNDERNEATH the main level! There will be a concert/event hall and what appears to be an additional smaller boarded arena. This is incredibly exciting to see that they are this far along with design and planning. Who knows how close they are to getting a team or what discussions have been had. The questions becomes without a dome over it anymore do you still call it the Silverdome or will a high profile corporate sponsor buy the naming rights?

Next month, four teams will meet at the Silverdome for the Club Invitational Tournament, set to take place on Saturday, February 4, and Monday, February 6. Those four teams are Mexico's Pumas UNAM, Argentina's River Plate, and a pair of teams from Hungary: Ferencvarosi TC and Vasas SC. I'm here to give you a short break down on each of these clubs coming to town.

"I'm a lady" shirt debut

Last night at halftime during the USA vs Ecuador game at the Claddagh the ladies of MCS unveiled a project that they had been working on in secret for months now. They have created a unique and rather interesting shirt design. It is a pair of beer mugs with Stiletto heels for the handles on the front and "I'm a lady" on the back. It is in MCS colors of course, blue with orange and white highlights. Click on the thumbnails for the full size pictures.
