I am soooooo excited I knew this would happen. What are your thoughts?
"We at the Motor City Supporters have recently spoken for the first time with one of the new owners of the Pontiac Silverdome, and we are absolutely positive it won't be the last. He informed us that there is a lot going on behind the scenes and that good things will come from their ownership. More details will be shared as they are released. In the meantime, bookmark the Motor City Supporters website, as we are your first source for information on the developments with Triple Sports & Entertainment and their newest acquisition, the Silverdome.
What are your thoughts on Major League Soccer in the Silverdome? We would love to hear from you. Also, we have direct access to the new owners, and they are interested in what Detroit soccer fans think about the idea, so speak up!"

I guess my question is whether the new 'Dome owners are trying to go at it alone or are they going to combine forces with Dan Duggan to present a great ownership group. I'm a fan of Dan and his efforts, and I think I'd like to see him involved with the 'Dome owners. But, I do like the 'Dome owners' vision, and if they're aggressive about their plans, I think it could be great for everyone.
If they combine, I wonder if the 'Dome land will have enough for 2 stadiums; one for a MLS team and one for a USL/NASL or USL2 or PDL team. I think it would be great to have a nice stadium to go after a MLS franchise and, following Dan Duggan's plan, have a team in a lower division still. I think it would make for a great complex, possibly lure a WPS franchise as well and make for a great relationship between 2 teams with regards to feeding players, having a friendly every year (and even the lower division team could have a friendly in the big stadium).

Although i love the idea of pro soccer in detroit, i don't know if the silverdome is the best place for it. A stadium that can fit 80,000 will be playign host to a team that will be, best case scenerio, playign in front of 30,000 fans? If thats the only way to brign an mls team, i'll of course buy season tickets to watch teh detroit franchise at the silverdome. however i still think a 20,000-25,000 sss located on teh land of the silverdome ( or downtown ) would be the ideal

Well I think there would be massive renovations to the Dome so it works, MLS wouldn't let Detroit open up with an 80k stadium that doesn't work. But the good news is the stadium was bought so ridiculously cheap, even extensive renovations would be cheaper than building a new stadium.
As far as working with Duggan, why not? I mean he has done well with amateur soccer in the area, it would be cool to combine a farm system run by Duggan (USL/NASL) and the MLS team run by the new owners if they work together!

Good to hear that "things are planned for this summer" at the dome. It is interesting to see Monster Jam but could the Pistons or would the Pistons play there? Could it be a two sport venue with the Pistons and an MLS team? News has been slow lately but good to see Pontiac putting the extra money they now have to good use and demolishing buildings. Good for the city I think.
